BIO

SMK is a multicultural music producer, sound engineer, and artist with Cambodian roots. Raised in Zambia and adopted by German parents, his global upbringing shapes a distinctive sound that blends Afrobeats, Hip-Hop, and RnB/Pop influences. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Music Production & Sound Engineering from Catalyst Berlin and a second Bachelor’s in Music Business from BIMM Berlin, grounding his creative work in both technical expertise and industry knowledge.

With over a decade of experience in the music industry, SMK has collaborated with a diverse range of artists across genres and continents. In July 2024, he co-produced L’essence De Jadis, the 10-track debut album by Rubin Kind. Earlier in his career, he worked closely with Somali star Lil Baliil on their breakout single Haaiweeydiin, which has since surpassed 1 million streams. 

 

As a mixing and recording engineer, SMK has collaborated with artists including, but not limited to Roberto Zambia, Lil Baliil, IsmaIP and Chisenga.
